April 25, 2026, is Anzac Day, a significant day. On Anzac Day in 1943, the first group of Australian prisoners of war marched into the Hellfire Pass area to begin working on the railway. There will be a Dawn Parade at Hellfire Pass and a Wreath-Laying Ceremony at Don Rak War Cemetery.

A dawn parade is held at Hellfire Pass in Kanchanaburi, where the greatest number of lives were lost while constructing the Thai-Burma Railway during World War II.
