This tour will give you time to enjoy a lot of what Kanchanaburi has to offer. Highlights include
- Floating Market Damnoen Saduak
- Kanchanaburi War Cemetery
- Bridge over the River Kwai
- Walk along Death Railway
- Elephant Ride and Bathe
- Rafting on Kwai River
- Hellfire Pass & Konyu Cutting
- Tiger Temple
Day One
We'll pick you up from your hotel at 07:00 and first stop will be at the original floating market, which is about half way to Kanchanaburi. We'll stop at the War Cemetery in Kanchanaburi to pick up the local guide and from there it's only a short hop to the Bridge over the River Kwai which is the starting point of the Death Railway.
This spectacular rail journey is rated as one of the best in the world. Unfortunately, maintainence on the line is virtually non-existant and therefore we have stopped taking tours on the train. However, we will stop at the wooden Wang Pho viaduct so you can take a walk on this section of the track and marvel at those who constructed this viaduct under such difficult circumstances.
After lunch we'll take you to the elephant camp where you can experience the unique 'elephants walk'. From there you can head straight for the river for bath time. The elephants love a good scrub!
Now that you are well wet, you can take the bamboo raft for a gentle float down the river. We'll pick you up at the other end.
Check-in to your resort accommodation alongside the historic River Kwai.
Day Two
After breakfast we'll take you up to Hellfire Pass. First stop is the Hellfire Pass museum and then you'll be able to walk down into Konyu Cutting where the memorial is. You'll need decent shoes for this walk as the track is set between the trees and there's lots of roots to step over.
You walk will have made you hungry, so we'll stop for lunch before moving to the Tiger Temple. You'll be at the temple early enough to be able to play with the tiger cubs during their afternoon feed time. From there you'll be able to follow the adult tigers down into the Tiger Canyon where they relax during the afternoon.
When you are ready to go, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Bangkok.
